My Hobbies

I really don't have any hobbies that I do avidly.  I spend a lot of hours in front of this computer because I absolutely love what I do on the internet.  People really enjoy and learn from my website, and I find that very gratifying.

Since I spent the better part of my life trading physical labor for money just to pay the bills, using technology to supplement my income really intrigues me.

Of course I've developed a lifetime love affair with plants.  I truly enjoy growing plants.  For years and years I was in the landscaping business, and a rainy day was depressing because we couldn't work, and we'd get behind schedule.

But once I started my Backyard Nursery rainy days no longer bothered me because I knew my plants were benefiting from the rain.  I would just sit at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee gazing at my nursery with a complete sense of pride and serenity.  It's a relaxation that words can not explain.  Pam thinks I'm a little nutty.  And I think she might be on to something!

I love photography.  I love to photograph small children, and now that we've got a grandson, I can't wait to get him out in the dirt, down to the lake, and along the river to get some pictures.  I also love to photograph one of the most beautiful and powerful natural wonders I've ever seen, Niagara Falls!
This is what I love about Niagara Falls!

I love Nascar.  Just recently I started following the sport closely again.  I've been a fan my whole life, but as life got busy I just didn't have the time to follow it.  Now the sport has become huge and the fan base is growing at an incredible rate.  Pam and I went to a race at Darlington, and I'd like to see at least two more Nascar tracks.

Does that surprise you?  A dirt farmer who loves Nascar?

What can I say?  I'm a gear head at heart!
