My Battle with Weight Loss

February 2nd, 2008:

I have good news to report!

I've been hitting the gym at least 4 times a week and have lost some weight!

I feel great and I'm sure I've lost some weight, even though I'm not going near a scale right now.  I sure hope this means that I'm committed enough to stick with this.  Because of the time I spend at the gym in the evenings I've been getting up at 4:00 am to answer questions on the message boards.   I'm tired but I feel much better.

If you've watched my Backyard Nursery Videos you can't help but notice I seem to go through cycles of weight gain and weight loss.  My weight goes up and down like an elevator.  When I go on a diet Pam will start to tell me why my latest diet won't work, and I remind her that I am a weight loss professional, who has lost more than 500lbs!  I know what I'm doing!

All kidding aside, I know that I have to lose weight and once and for all keep it off.  I said that I've learned something about myself.  Actually that's not quite true.  I am hoping to learn exactly what happens in my mind the minute I decide to fall off the wagon and eat something I shouldn't be eating when I am trying to lose weight.  That's the part of this obesity puzzle I just can't figure out!

When I first put this page up I figured if I started posting my weight loss progress on the internet it would force me to do a better job in getting the weight off and keeping it off.  That hasn't been the case at all.

So at this point my goal is to do the best I can, get as much exercise as possible, and not eat completely stupid.  If I ever figure this weight loss thing out I am certain to let you know the secret.
